Here is a list of terms used in Nigeria's university admissions process :
- Cut-off Mark: The minimum score required by a student to be offered admission into a university. Cut-off marks can be from JAMB or the university.
- Post UME/Screening: A system of admission used by schools, which can be in the form of physical interviews or grading of results (point system).
- One/Two Sitting Result: Refers to the number of results used for admission applications.
- Admission List: Contains names of successful candidates that applied for admission.
- Original JAMB Result: Used for admission processes.
- JAMB Brochure: Includes the name of courses to study in university and their requirements.
- JAMB Syllabus: Includes the subjects to do in JAMB exam and the area of concentration for the student to read.
- JAMB Past Question: Includes all the previous years' questions of JAMB exam.
- Change of Course/Institution: Done after the JAMB exam, it is all about changing your course of study or your university for certain reasons.
- Direct Entry: Another way to gain admission into the university, only valid for polytechnics students that have finished their ND level.
